I just wanted to give an update on what is going on these days with this little boy in my belly. I went back to see Dr. Davis at UAB last Thursday for another ultrasound to check on the baby. He took measurements and from what he could tell the baby weighs around 2 pounds and is looking good. The Placenta is still growing but it is slow and doesn't seem to be effecting the baby growth rate right now, which was the main concern. He wants me to continue seeing my regular OB doctor every week and get an ultrasound every 3 weeks. I will not going back to Birmingham because by the time my next appt would be scheduled I would be too close to my delivery date.
I saw my regular OB this past Tuesday and everything is finally starting to level out with my BP- thank goodness! He wants me to continue with the 1500 mg a day and hopefully I will not have to increase that anymore. YEAH!!!! I have to go part-time after Thanksgiving and will not be back to work after Christmas because we will be starting steroid shots for the baby's lungs to make sure they are completely developed before they take him. I am starting to swell again really badly in my legs and feet but so far all my test for preclampsia and HELPS are negative. He also informed me that I will not go past 36 weeks for any reason... it is just to dangerous for me and the baby. This will put me delivering him around the last week of January - if we don't have any complications before that time.
Both Doctors want to send the placenta off after the c-section to make sure that it is not a tumor of any kind. This makes me a little nervous but I am glad they are being safe.
So, that is what is going on in our world- from the Crovato family to yours we hope your Thanksgiving is filled with family, food, friends, and love!!!!

Braxton Hicks.......
My poor husband is back on shift work AGAIN. Bless his heart even though he has been at the mill for ten years he still is low man on the poll BUT all that will change next summer thank the Lord!!! I will say that it couldn't have happened at a worse time. I am suppost to be "resting" haha and he is either at I.P. or working on a tile job. He started midnights Tuesday night (a night earlier than normal) because of a shut down they were having and has been working 12 hour shifts every since.... he is so tired and therefore I am exhausted!
Last night he went in to work and Brody went to bed. Around 1:00 a.m. I heard him crying I could tell he had a bad dream, so I went into the bedroom and he was scared to death saying something about the dog outside the window. I knew is wasn't going to go back to sleep in his bed so I leaned down to pick him up..... not good- I had a sharp contraction and almost hit the ground in pain. They continued on through the night into the early morning. Finally around 7:15 they subsided but by that time I am completely worn out and feel horrible. My blood pressure was through the roof and I need to start getting Brody and I both ready for work and school. Needless to say- long night/morning.
Update on the BP meds. Went to the doctor on Tuesday just like normal. He uped my dosage again. I now take 1500 mg daily instead of 1000 but the catch is I have to be at rest for 5 minutes before I take my meds so I can take my pressure to see what it is. This determines how much medication I take. One pill, two pill, I am so complicated!!! LOL !!!!
I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend full of sunshine and fun!!!! Live, Laugh and Love!!!

Trick or Treat
We had a blast trick or treating with all our friends. I did really good and took it easy on the Rhino while Daddy walked Brody to the doors for candy. It only took him about 10 seconds to figure out what was going on and he was running to the those houses. It was so cute he would say..."TREAT!!!!" like it was a demand but then say "Tank Tou!" (which is Thank you!) when he got his candy... SOOOO CUTE!!! It was a little cold but thank goodness his bear outfit was warm and thanks to the Verhoff's we had a cool ride... hay in a trailor pulled by a Rhino... SO MUCH FUN!!! Here are some of the pictures-

Baby Update
First of all I would like to thank everyone for your kind words of encouragement and your prayers. I don't know what I would do without them. Thank you so much from our whole family.
Well, let me start with two weeks ago. It was a Sunday after Adam and Brody were both in a friends wedding and I new I didn't feel well the minute I woke up. I had a horrible head-ache but it wasn't like the normal ones that I could just take some Tylenol and get over- it was bad.
After several hours of hurting and two dozes of meds I realized it wasn't getting any better, in fact in was getting alot worse.
Adam was on evening shift and had to leave our house by two to be a work on time. Once he realized I wasn't getting any better he called in reinforcements. Pat came around 1:30 and picked Brody up so I could try to get some rest and sleep this head-ache away. Around 5:30 that night I was hurting so bad it was making me physical sick..... I then called my grandmother to see if she could bring me her BP monitor from her house so I could check to see what was going on with my blood pressure.
After she got to my house and I took my BP I decided it was time to call the doctor- She told me to get to Baptist East quick. Soooooo, make a long story short- after getting to the hospital and they observing me for several hours it was confirmed that I had developed a blood pressure induced migraine. They gave me some pain meds and something for nausea. We left the hospital around 3:30 in the morning.
I am now taking my blood pressure pills 4 times daily along with a baby aspirin because some of my blood work came back elevated. He also informed me that I need to plan on not working after Thanksgiving......... I am hoping that this will change. Two whole months of bed rest will send me to the crazy house.
Well, that's the newest update. I hope everyone is doing well and please keep us in your prayers.

Where do I start??????
I am sure by now alot of you know that I have been having some complications with my pregnancy. There has been so much confusion on what is really wrong I thought this would be the easiest way to get it out there...... sooooooo here we go.
Around my 17th week I had what they call a "triple screen" done. This blood test looks for any elevation in numbers that could effect fetal growth and development. Well, my test came back with one level (HCG) dangerously high. My doctors office called me at home to let me know that with levels of the nature they wanted to set me up asap with a specialist at UAB. Three days later I was at UAB speaking with a Fetal Genetics Specialist and having a Doppler Ultrasound and a Amnio done. Needless to say I was a nervous wreck.
The main thing they were concerned about was Spinal Bifida, but there was also other concerns that came along with my levels. As the Doctor performed the ultrasound the baby looked good and measured to date but there was still a great deal of concern from what they saw with beyond him.... my placenta was much larger than it should be and the doctor didn't understand why. So then they completed my amnio, and may I just say that is not a comfortable thing.....
We left UAB with the understanding that this pregnancy was categorized as a High Risk Pregnancy and that I would need to continue my care with both my regular OB and the Doc's at UAB.
Since that time we have learned my amnio came back great! But, I on the other hand I am not so great. My placenta is pushing down on the baby not giving him much room to grow and my BP is very high. Last Monday I was placed in the Hospital with elevated BP and sent home on meds twice daily. A follow up with my regular OB later that week revealed I probably won't be able to carry the baby to full term in fact if I make it to 36 weeks I will doing good. Another problem is he mentioned bed rest which if you know me that is hardly something that could even be possible. They are all kinds of little things that are causing issues but these are the main things. So, everyone please pray for my little man that I can carry him to a healthy delivery date and he will be born with no problems and throw a little pray in there for me that I may have the understanding and faith to make it through this.
Thank you everyone!!!!
